21:9 · Ultrawide

The ultrawide monitor — big, or fast.

P40K and Q34W are 21:9 ultrawides: the P40K a 40-inch 5K2K canvas, the Q34W a faster 34-inch UWQHD. Built for width, not pixel density — they connect to a Mac over USB-C, but at 139/109 PPI they are not the 218-PPI HiDPI class of our 5K and 6K.

What’s different?

Size & sharpness
P40K40-inch 5K2K139 PPI
Q34W34-inch UWQHD109 PPI

The P40K is a large 40-inch 5120 × 2160 canvas — denser and roomier for serious multitasking. The Q34W is a more compact 34-inch 3440 × 1440, easier to fit on a desk.

Speed
P40K120 Hz8 ms GtG
Q34W165 Hzfaster motion

Both are smooth, but the Q34W pushes to 165 Hz for crisper motion in scrubbing and play. The P40K runs a steady 120 Hz across its much larger 5K2K panel.

Finish
P40KMatteNano IPS
Q34WGlossyIPS

The P40K’s matte Nano IPS panel scatters glare for bright rooms; the Q34W’s glossy coating reads punchier in controlled light.

Why ultrawide

One screen instead of two

A 21:9 ultrawide replaces a dual-monitor setup — all the width, none of the bezel seam down the middle.

Built for wide work

Extra horizontal room for video timelines, wide spreadsheets and side-by-side windows.

Using a Mac?

Both run over USB-C with 100 W charging, but at 139/109 PPI they are not Mac-class HiDPI; the P40K is the sharper of the two. For native Mac-class HiDPI, see the 5K and 6K.

Frequently asked questions

Do these ultrawide monitors work with a Mac?
Yes. The P40K (5120 × 2160) and Q34W (3440 × 1440) connect over USB-C, DisplayPort or HDMI on Apple Silicon Macs; one USB-C cable also delivers up to 100 W to charge the laptop. They are not Mac-class HiDPI though — the P40K is 139 PPI, the Q34W 109 PPI. For native 218-PPI sharpness, see our 5K and 6K monitors.
P40K vs Q34W — which ultrawide should I pick?
Pick the P40K for a large, sharp 40-inch 5K2K canvas (5120 × 2160, 139 PPI, matte) — the most desktop space. Pick the Q34W for a faster, more compact 34-inch UWQHD (3440 × 1440, 165 Hz, glossy) that fits a smaller desk.
What is 5K2K and UWQHD?
5K2K is 5120 × 2160 — the resolution of the 40-inch P40K. UWQHD is 3440 × 1440 — the 34-inch Q34W. Both are 21:9 ultrawide; the P40K simply has far more pixels and screen area.
Can an ultrawide charge my laptop over one cable?
Yes. The upstream USB-C port delivers up to 100 W Power Delivery, so a connected laptop runs the display and charges over a single cable.
